The Norfolk Water Fund (NWF) is a financial mechanism established under the Norfolk Water Strategy Programme (NWSP) to support the development and delivery of NbS projects that address water challenges in the region.

With thanks to The Nature Conservancy’s Go Fund, NWF is currently offering funding to develop nature-based solutions (NbS) projects in the Norfolk region.

Projects supported through this feasibility stage can then progress into Anglian Water’s Catchment Regeneration Fund, launched in January 2026, which provides funding for the delivery of NbS projects focused on reducing nutrient pollution and/or mitigating low‑flow impacts.

Funding awarded through the Norfolk Water Fund can contribute towards the Catchment Regeneration Fund’s matched funding requirement, creating a clear pathway from project development through to implementation.

The funding can be used to facilitate landowner engagement, surveys, permits, and design work required to bring an NbS project to a shovel-ready stage and maximise benefits for water security and wider environmental outcomes.

In addition, funding is available for monitoring activities, including staff time, equipment and other resources required to track the effectiveness of NbS interventions over time. Applicants should refer to our best practice guidance when designing a monitoring plan.

To apply for funding of up to £15,000, please email nwsp@wre.org.uk to receive the application template.
