Integrated Catchment Planning Lead
Salary: £60,000+ depending on experience
Location: Hybrid/home-based working across Eastern England
Contract: Permanent
Water Resources East (WRE) is seeking an experienced Integrated Catchment Planning Lead to help shape the future of water management across Eastern England.
Working collaboratively with water companies, the Environment Agency, catchment partnerships, consultants and industry partners, this role will lead the development of integrated catchment plans that support sustainable water supplies, environmental resilience and long-term investment.
The successful candidate will help translate complex scientific evidence into practical strategies, supporting the delivery of integrated solutions that address the region’s water challenges. The role will also play a leading part in the delivery of the Great Ouse Catchment System Plan (GO-CaSP), alongside managing multidisciplinary projects and stakeholder relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the development of integrated catchment plans and investment portfolios.
- Turning technical evidence into clear, practical strategies.
- Working with regulators, water companies, consultants and environmental partners.
- Supporting the delivery of GO-CaSP.
- Managing consultant-led projects and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
- Helping shape the future of regional water resource planning.
About you
You will have experience in one or more of the following areas: integrated catchment planning, water resources, hydrology, hydro-ecology, water quality, river morphology, environmental science, environmental planning or a related discipline.
You will have:
- Strong technical understanding of catchment and environmental systems.
- Experience managing complex projects and working with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating across organisations.
Experience working with the Environment Agency, water companies or environmental consultancies would be beneficial.
